UPR Supports Sakura Racing in STEM Racing Competition

UPR CORPORATION (Japan) and UPR (Thailand) proudly supported Sakura Racing, a student team from Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, in the international STEM Racing Competition, a Formula 1–inspired event that brings together young engineers and marketers from around the world.

The competition challenges students to design, build, and race a miniature F1 car while also managing sponsorship campaigns and marketing strategies—just like a real racing team. This global program, sponsored by Formula 1, aims to nurture creativity and technical skills among students aged 11 to 19 through STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

On the competition day, Mr. Shin Matsubara, Managing Director of UPR (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and UPR staff visited Sakura Racing’s booth to cheer on the team. They shared Thai souvenirs, watched the races, and offered words of encouragement to the students.

Sakura Racing performed impressively, advancing to the final round of the competition and finishing 7th overall. The team also earned five awards, including a special recognition. Their achievement reflects dedication, teamwork, and innovation—core values that align with UPR’s own philosophy.

UPR believes this experience offered the students a valuable opportunity to learn hands-on engineering, project management, and teamwork in an international setting. Through this sponsorship, UPR hopes to support and inspire young talents who will drive the next generation of innovation and leadership.
